Artist – Maria Alejandra Gutierrez, Tecnologico De Monterrey, Mexico
Maria’s design is about story-telling by sharing and combines the Mexican culture of Hidalgo State, with the unique technique of Tenango, a colourful mosaic of hand-embroidered threads. Every Tenango is a new story to the Otimi culture, representing events such as marriage, ancient ceremonies, harvests and births. The design symbolises new and different Miffy stories influenced by rich Mexican culture.
