The amazing Bermondsey Street Bees started in the heart of London with Dale Gibson when he realised that the roof of his and his wife’s Victorian sugar warehouse overlooking The Shard would be a perfect place to keep bees.
Although it’s situated in what most would assume a not very ‘green’ area, Bermondsey Street is surrounded by parks and rooftop gardens becoming a haven for bees. After completing beekeeper training, he installed the first hives in 2007, beginning a fascinating journey into what has become a passion for bee welfare and raw honey production!
